  • 1 and 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup pecan halves
  • 1 cup milk chocolate chips
  • 1 cup butter (divided into 1/2 cup cold cubed + 2/3 cup for caramel)
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar (divided into 1/2 cup for crust + 1/2 cup for caramel)
  • Sea salt flakes (for garnish)
  • Drizzled caramel sauce (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour and 1/2 cup brown sugar. Cut in cold cubed butter until crumbly.
  3. Press the mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared pan.
  4. Sprinkle pecan halves over the crust.
  5. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt remaining butter and brown sugar until bubbling; cook for one minute.
  6. Pour the hot caramel over the pecans and crust.
  7. Bake for 18–20 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
  8. Remove from oven and immediately sprinkle chocolate chips on top; let them soften, then spread evenly.
