  • 150 g wide wheat noodles
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 3 cloves garlic (finely diced)
  • 2 green onions (sliced)
  • 2-3 tsp red chili flakes
  • 1 tsp white sesame seeds
  • 2 tsp dark soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp all-purpose soy sauce
  • 1 tsp rice vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp brown sugar
  • 2 tsp toasted sesame oil
  • 1/4 tsp red chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp chicken bouillon powder
  • chili crisp (optional)

Instructions

  1. Boil the wide wheat noodles until al dente according to package instructions. Reserve 1/4 cup starchy water before draining.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, heat oil and add garlic, white part of green onion, chili flakes, and sesame seeds. Toast until garlic is golden.
  3. Stir in reserved starchy water along with chicken bouillon powder, soy sauces, rice vinegar, sesame oil, brown sugar, and green onion tops. Mix well.
  4. Toss cooked noodles in the sauce until evenly coated.
  5. Serve hot with optional toppings like chili crisp or additional sesame seeds.
