Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 teaspoons Platinum Yeast from Red Star
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup whole milk (warmed)
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 and ⅓ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary (or 4 teaspoons dried)
  • ¾ cup shredded cheese (parmesan or mozzarella)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine warmed milk, yeast, and sugar. Let sit until frothy.
  2. Add softened butter and egg; mix well. Gradually stir in flour, salt, garlic powder, and rosemary until a soft dough forms.
  3. Knead on a floured surface for about 5–7 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place dough in a greased bowl and cover with a towel. Let rise for about an hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Punch down dough, divide into small pieces, roll into balls, and dip in melted butter mixed with remaining herbs.
  6. Arrange in clusters on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper; cover and let rise again for another hour.
  7. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Sprinkle cheese on top of the dough before baking for about 30–50 minutes until golden brown.
