These grilled smash burger tacos combine juicy beef, melty cheese, and crispy tortillas with the bold toppings of a burger—all made directly on your grill.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20)
  • 8 small flour tortillas
  • 8 slices American cheese
  • Shredded lettuce
  • Pickle slices
  • Burger sauce (mayo, ketchup, mustard, relish)
  • Salt & pepper

Instructions

1. Preheat grill to high heat (450°F) with a cast iron skillet or griddle.

2. Divide ground beef into 8 equal balls.

3. Place a ball of beef onto each tortilla and smash flat to cover tortilla surface.

4. Place meat-side down on hot griddle. Press firmly for crispy sear (about 90 seconds).

5. Flip, add cheese, and cook for 30 seconds.

6. Remove from grill and top with lettuce, pickles, and sauce.

7. Serve immediately or keep warm in foil until ready.

Notes

You can use low-carb tortillas for a keto version.

Add diced onions or jalapeños for extra kick.

Make-ahead tip: prepare beef-on-tortilla stacks ahead and grill later.
