Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 medium cauliflower, cut into florets
  • 1/3 cup rice flour
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp oil
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder (optional)
  • 1/3 – 1/4 cup water
  • 1.5 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1/4 cup light soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice wine vinegar
  • 1-2 tbsp sriracha sauce (adjust to taste)
  • Fresh ginger, minced
  • Fresh garlic, minced
  • Honey or maple syrup

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Cut cauliflower into bite-sized florets.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine rice flour, cornstarch, garlic powder if using, and water to create a smooth batter.
  3. Coat each floret in the batter and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  4. Bake for 25–30 minutes until golden brown and crispy, flipping halfway through.
  5. While baking, prepare the sticky sauce by combining sesame oil, soy sauce, rice wine vinegar, sriracha, ginger, garlic, honey/maple syrup, cornstarch, and water in a saucepan over medium heat until thickened.
  6. Once baked, transfer the cauliflower to a mixing bowl and toss with the sticky sauce until well coated.
  7. Serve on a platter garnished with sesame seeds and spring onions.
